ULL wins first Sun Belt tourney title since 1998
MOBILE, AL - Louisiana-Lafayette won held off UT Arlington 6-5 in the Sun Belt tournament championship game, capping a historic conference season for the Ragin' Cajuns.
In sweeping the regular season and tournament championships, the Cajuns (53-7) set the conference record for wins in a season.
Blake Trahan scored the winning run as he hit a solo home run in the bottom of the 7th to give the Cajuns the winning margin.
ULL earned the right to host a regional next weekend and will find out Monday whether they are hosting as a national seed.
