Two young mothers killed in crash
ERWINVILLE - Families are mourning the loss of two young mothers after a fatal crash took their lives.
Police say just after 9:30 p.m. Monday, Nikki Nolen and Abby Thompson, both 18, were driving southbound on Hwy 413 when Nolen lost control and ran into a tree.
Neither person was wearing a seatbelt.
Family of the victims describe both Nolen and Thompson as great mothers and friends to everyone.
"Two mothers, two great mothers," said one family member. "The only time you saw them together, was with their kids."
Nolen's brother, Chris Nolen, says his sister was enrolled a Capital Area Technical College, and was months away from earning her GED.
"She wanted to do something with her life, she wanted to better herself," he said.
