Two women hit by vehicle, seriously injured Tuesday night
BAKER- Police spent Tuesday evening interviewing the driver of a vehicle that hit two women, severely injuring both of them.
The women were rushed to an area hospital after the crash on South Magnolia, off Highway 19. Their conditions were described as very serious by first responders on the scene.
The crash happened just before 6:30 and police spent hours marking the area where the victim's shoes landed after they were blown off the victims' feet. Crime scene tape blocked the street as investigators collected evidence.
Police said the women were walking down the street when they were hit. They were not prepared to speculate on what happened Tuesday evening.
None of the people involved were identified.
The police chief said he expected to be able to release more information Wednesday morning.
