Louisiana State Police have released the identities of two of the four victims who died as a result of injuries sustained in a Friday morning crash on Interstate 10 near Grosse Tete.

Police said truck drivers Mark Woodard, 34, of Denham Springs and Fredy Guerra, 52, of Edinburg, Texas, died in the crash. The identities of the remaining victims are being held pending the notification of family.

Just before 5 a.m., a 1999 Kenworth 18-wheeler driven by Woodard sideswiped another disabled 18-wheeler that was parked on the eastbound shoulder of I-10. After the impact, Woodard's truck crossed the median into the westbound lanes and struck two vehicles head on: the 18-wheeler driven by Guerrra and a 2005 Mercury SUV. All vehicles immediately caught fire after the collision.

The operator of the disabled 18-wheeler, Jose Ramirez, 48, of Laredo, Texas, was asleep in the sleeper cab at the time of the crash and was not injured. Troopers cited Ramirez for failure to properly display warning devices for a disabled vehicle on the shoulder.
