Two men arrested in meth lab bust
INDEPENDENCE - Narcotics agents with the Tri Parish Task Force shut down an active meth lab and arrested two men during a planned raid of an Independence home on Monday.
Deputies took 37-year-old Peter Scalia of Robert and 36-year-old William Parson of Independence into custody after a search of the Danna Road home revealed equipment and chemicals used to manufacture methamphetamine, according to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office.
Scalia was also charged with two counts of resisting an officer and simple battery. He also had outstanding warrants out for his arrest.
Both men were booked and will face charges for the manufacture of methamphetamine.
