Two kids survive major crash on newly-opened Central Thruway
BATON ROUGE- Two kids survived a crash when a mini van collided into an 18-wheeler on the newly opened Central Thruway, the driver is in critical condition at a hospital.
Police said the driver, a 28-year-old woman, ran the red light at the beginning of the thruway at Choctaw. She plowed into the truck.
First responders worked the crash scene for a few hours. The original emergency call was made in the middle of Monday's evening rush.
Police did not release the name of the driver of the van.
