The stabbing happened just after 2 p.m. Sunday at a store located in the 28,000 block of LA Hwy 43 in Albany. Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard said the victim remains in the hospital with multiple life threatening stab wounds.

Deputies say 33-year-old Jeremy J Griner was charged with attempted second-degree murder. Jennifer Burton was charged with principal to attempted second-degree murder and obstruction of justice.

Ard said that the victim and the two suspects had a strained relationship and were meeting regarding a custody issue.

The investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
