PLAQUEMINE- Members of a hunting club near the site of a fatal off-road vehicle accident say fog may have been a factor in the wreck.
Two people died and a third was injured when a utility terrain vehicle, or UTV, flipped near the intersection of Milly Plantation Road and L-A 75. Police identified the deceased as Brooklyn Landry and Brendan Landry died, and said driver Matthew Verret was the one injured.
Hunting club members say people often park on one side of Highway 75, unload off-road equipment and cross the highway to access hunting areas. They think the victims may have missed a driveway while trying to do that early Sunday morning.
People tell News 2 the group was out partying before the accident. A blood sample from Verret was sent to the State Police Crime Lab, but troopers do not suspect he was impaired.
