Two children were ejected from a vehicle when it was hit by an oncoming car. The crash happened Saturday afternoon at the corner of North Foster and Winnebago in Baton Rouge.

Baton Rouge Police say Kevin Tasker, 24, failed to yield after stopping at a stop sign and was hit by an oncoming vehicle.

A 3-year-old and 8-month-old were ejected from the vehicle, driven by Tasker, because they were not restrained, according to police.

Tasker and the driver of the other vehicle were taken to the hospital but were not seriously injured. Both children were also transported to the hospital. The 3-year-old was seriously injured but is expected to be okay. The 8-month-old is in critical condition after suffering a serious head injury and broken leg.

The wreck is still under investigation with charges pending. Investigators do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
