Two charged with pimping 16-year-old out of hotel
BATON ROUGE - Police charged two people after a 16-year-old girl was found performing sexual acts for money out of a hotel room Sunday.
Officers responded to the Holiday Inn on Airline Highway after getting a call from a family member of the 16-year-old who was reported missing from Oklahoma.
Investigators found the juvenile along with Victor Meldlock, 31, and Lindsay Lovell, 21, in the room.
Police say the girl was an aquaintance of Lovell and took a Greyhound bus from Arkansas to Baton Rouge recently.
The 16-year-old was then convinced by Lovell and Medlock to perform sexual acts for money, according to police.
Police charged Lovell and Medlock with promotion of prostitution, trafficking of children for sexual purposes, contributing to delinquency of juvenile, illegal use of dangerous substance and possession under 17 and possession of marijuana.
Both remain in custody at the East Baton Rouge Parish Jail.
