Two brothers booked for double murder in Lafourche Parish

LAFOURCHE PARISH - Police have arrested two brothers in connection a double murder that happened Saturday afternoon in Raceland.

Detectives booked 34-year-old Kerry Alexander and 28-year-old Jerrell Alexander for the deaths of Marcel Turner and Jeremiah Ballard

The incident happened around 3 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of Market Street in Raceland. Once deputies arrived at the scene, they found Turner dead and Ballard suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Ballard was transported to a local hospital where he later died. There was a third victim present but he was able to escape.

After an investigation detectives, learned that the Alexanders entered the victim's home in black clothing and camouflage masks. They demanded money from the victims but within seconds the brothers began firing at the men.

The Alexanders were booked into the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux. They are each charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted first-degree murder.
