Two Baton Rouge women wanted for bank fraud
BATON ROUGE - Baton Rouge Police are looking for two women accused of bank fraud and theft.
Police say Jontell Poole and Geneal Shavers went to the Pelican State Credit Union in June and deposited three checks worth about $1,350. According to police the checks were written from Poole's Chase bank account, which either had insufficient funds or was closed.
Shavers later withdrew the money before Pelican State Credit Union realized the Chase Bank account did not have enough funds to cover the transaction.
Police say Shavers and Poole split the money to pay their rent.
Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of Poole or Shavers should contact the Financial Crimes division of BRPD at 389-3871.
