Two arrested, one sought after interrupted theft
BATON ROUGE - Sheriff's deputies said they caught two teens who tried to rob an East Baton Rouge home Monday, and are looking for a third believed to be involved.
Deputies arrested Khamal Ross, 18, and a 14-year-old male during a search near the scene of the crime.
EBRSO spokesperson Casey Hicks said a homeowner on Fall Creek was asleep around noon when they heard someone kick in the door. Hicks said they caught the three trying to burglarize their home, and the teens fled the scene.
Deputies set up a perimeter in the area and later said they found Ross and the 14-year-old in a canal. They are still searching for the third suspect.
Hicks said nothing was reported missing from the home.
Ross and the other teen are charged with simple burglary, damage to property, and attempted theft of a firearm.
