Two arrested, one sought after attempted burglary
BATON ROUGE - Police arrested two people and said a third is on the loose after the group tried to break into a Baton Rouge apartment Thursday morning.
Cpl. L'Jean McKneely said officers charged Dwayne Cossett, 30, and Felton Brown, 22, with attempted burglary, resisting arrest, and criminal damage to property. They said Cossett was also charged with disarming a peace officer after he tried to take a stun gun away from one of the arresting officers.
McKneely said officers got calls around 11:40 a.m. about a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of some apartments at 155 Marilyn Drive. Police said when they arrived they blocked the vehicle in, and the three people trying to break into the apartment fled on foot.
Officers said they arrested Cossett and Brown after a short foot pursuit, but the third burglar got away.
Anyone with information about this crime should call the Baton Rouge Police Department at (225) 389-2000.
