Two arrested, one at large in bank robbery
GEISMAR - Sheriff's deputies announced two arrests Friday in a recent Ascension Parish bank robbery, but said one suspect remained at large.
Chief Deputy Tony Bacala said they have an arrest warrant for Bryan Golden, 30, of Gonzales whom detectives believe is responsible for robbing the Red River Bank on Feb. 19. Bacala said he's not yet in custody, though.
Deputies did arrest Cedric Emerson, 31, and Travis West, 32, on Thursday in connection with the same robbery. West faces accessory charges, while Emerson faces charges of armed robbery and resisting arrest.
Authorities said a man wearing a motorcycle helmet and armed with a handgun came into the bank Wednesday and demanded cash. Investigators said after law enforcement arrived they found the suspected getaway vehicle abandoned about two miles away. Deputies brought in search dogs which led them to nearby River Oaks Road, where investigators believe the robber was picked up by accomplices.
Bacala said cash rewards are being offered for information leading to Golden's arrest. Anyone with information should call the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office at (225) 621-INFO (4636), or text an anonymous tip to 847411.
