Police in Zachary have arrested two people in suspicion of running a meth lab in their affluent, country club neighborhood.

35-year-old Michael Kendrick and 27-year-old Angela Belt were arrested this afternoon at their home on English Turn. Investigators tell WBRZ that the lab they were running could be a major supplier of meth for much of south Louisiana and Mississippi.

Neighbors say the bust was a complete shock to them, even though police believe this operation could have been in place for several years.

Investigators are still working at the site, and are waiting on a clean-up crew to come decontaminate the house.
