The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office expects to make another arrest in connection with a Wednesday night murder on S. Sunderland Avenue.
A 16-year-old has already been arrested and charged with first degree murder. Jay Winters, 28, was also arrested and charged as a principal to the murder.
Investigators believe Winters drove the teen to the scene and provided him with a high-powered assault rifle. They say the teen used the rifle to kill Patricia Aldridge and critically injure her son. He is on life support at the hospital.
Investigators say Aldridge and her son knew their attackers. But they are still trying to figure out the motive.
Sheriff Sid Gautreaux says his department was able to make arrests quickly thanks to assistance from the public.
