Alexandria Police have arrested two men who they say scammed a Texas man out of $19,000.
Police say 26-year-old Abdel J. Yousef of Metairie and 31-year-old Saed Mousa Yousef of Bossier City have been charged with theft of more than $500.
Police say the Katy, Texas, man arranged to meet with both men in Alexandria in August.
When they met, investigators say the Texas man gave the Yousefs $19,000 in international phone cards - which he sells - in exchange for two cashier's checks.
Police say the Texas man found out the checks were fake when he called to verify their authenticity.
