Two arrested in interstate meth bust
PORT ALLEN - State Police arrested two men Thursday after troopers said they were caught driving more than a dozen pounds of meth through Louisiana.
Troopers charged 47-year-old Mariano Vicente of Miami and 65-year-old Ismael Bragin of Georgia with drug possession and intent to distribute.
Investigators said they stopped Vicente's vehicle shortly after 3:30 a.m. on I-10 West near LA 415. Troopers said after getting consent to search the vehicle they found nearly 9 pounds of meth in a children's backpack as well as 4 pounds of liquid meth in a cooler.
State Police booked the two men into the West Baton Rouge Parish jail. Vicente was also charged with improper lane usage.
