BATON ROUGE- Two men were arrested for soliciting sex from undercover cops at a BREC Park.

It happened this week at Manchac Park, on Jefferson Highway in south Baton Rouge.

Members of the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office Special Community Anti-crime Team conducted the operation at Manchac Park and caught the men.

James Holifield and Ira Babin were arrested by undercover deputies from crimes against nature.

The East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office is beefing up patrols to make sure lewd acts like this don't continue to happen in BREC parks.

"Our deputies are out there. They're working undercover and you will be arrested and charged if we find you doing that type of stuff," said East Baton Rouge Parish Public Information Director Casey Hicks.

Parents who frequent Manchac Park say they're pleased with the extra patrol, and plant to stay on high alert.

"It's going to raise my level of awareness, just for our surroundings and who's already at the park, and if there are other children or families playing, or mostly adults congregating," said Christine Shipley.

Another man, who was dressed as a woman at the time, was arrested just after 6:30 p.m. after trying to solicit sex from an undercover deputy at Scenic Highway and Seneca Street, according to arrest records.
