Two arrested after shots fired near EBR subdivision
Two East Baton Rouge men were arrested when authorities say they shot a gun near a subdivision after smoking marijuana.
19-year-old Joshua Magee and 22-year-old Jason Bazille were arrested today in suspicion of illegal use of a weapon and possessing marijuana.
According to the EBR Sheriff’s Office, a resident on the 1600 block of Pride Baywood was out mowing their grass when they heard gunshots and saw a blue Dodge Charger drive by. Deputies stopped a blue Charger with Magee and Bazille in it near the Indian Mound subdivision, and said they found a pistol and marijuana in the car.
Investigators arrested the two and said they confessed to smoking marijuana in the car and then firing the weapon into the air to see if it worked, and that they didn’t fire at any people.
Magee and Bazille are being booked into the parish jail.
