Two arrested after robbery, chase
ETHEL - Sheriff's deputies in East Feliciana Parish arrested two men Monday after an armed robbery and high-speed chase ended in a crash.
Deputies arrested Mark Lee of Zachary and Devin Isadore of Baton Rouge, booking both on two counts of armed robbery. Lee also faced charges of aggravated flight from an officer.
Sheriff's deputies said the pair robbed a convenience store in Ethel around 10:20 a.m. Monday, taking money from the cash register and a customer. Deputies were given a description of the suspect's vehicle and spotted it a short time later. Deputies said when they tried to pull it over the car it took off and led officers on a high-speed chase.
Investigators said the chase ended when the car crashed at the intersection of US 61 and Thomas Road in Baton Rouge. They said Lee and Isadore abandoned the car, but were caught a short time later. Deputies said they found most of the cash stolen during the robbery on the two suspects.
The East Feliciana Parish Sheriff's Office said a number of different agencies assisted with the robbery investigation and chase, including the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Department, Baton Rouge Police Department, Louisiana State Police, Baker Police Department, Zachary Police Department, Jackson Marshall's Office, and the Clinton Police Department.
