PLAQUEMINE- A juvenile and a teenager were arrested late Tuesday after a girl was shot with a paintball gun at the high school here.

Sheriff's deputies arrested Daryl Tillman, 18, and an unidentified person for firing at the girl while she left an after school event.

The unnamed teenager faces battery charges and Tillman faces contributing to the delinquency of a minor and accessory after the fact. Since Tillman is an adult, he was booked into the parish jail. The underage teen was sent to a juvenile detention facility.

Investigators said the altercation was a prank that had serious consequences.
