Tussle during home invasion
WALKER - According to the Walker Police Department, officers arrested a man for invading a home after the homeowner and a neighbor pinned him to the ground.
Police said the homeowner began fighting with the suspect, Demarcus Ross, after seeing Ross in his hallway. According to investigators, Ross had a small caliber gun and was planning on robbing the Walker resident.
Detectives said the handgun went off twice during the struggle.
Ross suffered a gunshot to the forearm. Walker Police said the homeowner was injured after being hit in the head with the gun. Neither of the injuries was serious.
Ross admitted that he intended to burglarize the home. He also told police that someone who knows the homeowner suggested that Ross rob him.
Ross faces charges of aggravated burglary and aggravated battery.
Walker Police are continuing to investigate the matter.
