Turning breezy and colder

Rain showers have wrapped up and we will now notice a marked drop in temperatures. A cold front swooping through the Southeastern United States this morning will grab any lingering rain showers or cloud cover and shove it out of the area. Behind this front, look for an afternoon of gradual clearing and a noticeable breeze. Winds shifting to the northwest will allow cool air to rush in, thus temperatures are actually expected to fall into the upper 40s this afternoon. Get ready for a very cold night as clear skies and a continued cold breeze push readings into the upper 20s! With high pressure positioned to our northeast, Friday will remain chilly and breezy. Even with lots of sunshine, our high will likely peak just below 50°.
