Tulane student falls to his death on campus
NEW ORLEANS - A Tulane University sophomore fell to his death from a residence hall balcony early Saturday morning, the university confirmed Monday.
WWL-TV reports Tulane President Michael Fitts confirmed the death of 20-year-old Benjamin Burlock, a student in the college of Liberal Arts.
"I am deeply saddened to share the news about the death of one of our students," said Fitts.
A story from the Hullabaloo, a university newspaper website, said the activity report from the Tulane University Police Department classified the incident as an alcohol offense.
The website also reported that Burlock died of blunt trauma to the head due to the fall.
