BATON ROUGE - Traffic officials said Siegen Lane and Perkins Road are back open after a wreck and diesel spill during the evening rush hour.

The wreck involved a semi at the intersection of Siegen and Perkins at around 4:15 p.m.

Emergency responders said it shut down two lanes of Siegen and two lanes of Perkins while Baton Rouge Fire HazMat and St. George Fire cleaned up the scene.

Drivers were told to use an alternate route until traffic congestion fully cleared in the area.
