Tucker: La. could feel impact from U. S. downgrade
BATON ROUGE- Louisiana House Speaker Jim Tucker says the state could feel an impact from the federal debt downgrade.
Tucker (R-Terrytown) told the Baton Rouge press club this type of situation makes the business world uneasy. He says that could hurt a company or individual's decision to invest, which would impact how much money the state is able to collect.
He did say Washington could learn from the Louisiana requirements that require a balanced budget. Tucker says Louisiana has received four ratings upgrades on its debt obligation, which is not easy to obtain.
