Trucker crushed by load after wreck
PRAIRIEVILLE- A 61-year-old cement truck driver died after he lost control of his truck and wrecked Wednesday afternoon.
Sheriff's deputies in Ascension Parish said Albert Rucker of Baton Rouge was crushed by the mixer when the truck crashed. The accident happened on Merritt Evans Road about 4:30 p.m.
Deputies do not believe speed was a factor in the crash but are not sure why Rucker swerved.
The roadway was closed for hours as authorities investigated the crash scene and cleaned the debris.
