I-10 reopened after wreck on bridge
BATON ROUGE - A wreck involving a pickup and a semi closed several lanes across the I-10 Mississippi River bridge and snarled traffic in both directions Wednesday.
The wreck happened near the Nicholson exit off I-10 East around noon and involved a pickup towing a trailer as well as another truck hauling hauling vehicles for sale. The wreck blocked two lanes on the eastbound side, and one lane on I-10 West.
Traffic officials closed the eastbound lanes at around 1:30 to remove the vehicles involved in the wreck, reopening them around 2 p.m. DOTD said traffic had backed up four miles past LA 415 due to the closure.
EMS said there were minor injuries at the scene, and nobody was taken to the hospital.
