Truck hauling glycerin flips on Airline
BATON ROUGE- A wreck involving a truck hauling liquid used in pharmaceutical and skin care products will likely take hours to cleanup.
The semi flipped in the ditch on the eastbound lanes of Airline Highway across form Sherwood Commons. The tanker is not leaking, firefighters said.
"There is no danger of fire nor any threat to public health," a spokesperson for the St. George Fire Protection District said. But, the mess won't be easy to cleanup.
Fire and hazmat crews are on the scene waiting for glycerin, the liquid inside the overturned truck, to be off loaded.
Traffic is only minimally impacted by this incident.
