Truck driver killed in Acadia Parish crash
CROWLEY - State police say a truck driver died and his passenger injured when the vehicle ran off the road and overturned.
Master Trooper Brooks David says the accident happened around 9:30 Wednesday night on La. Highway 97 in Acadia Parish.
David says 42-year-old Joseph Joseph II ran off the road and overturned on its roof in a ditch. He says both the driver and passenger were not wearing a seat belt and were ejected from the vehicle.
David says Joseph was taken to a nearby hospital where he died and the passenger, 34-year-old Eric Bergeaux of Basile suffered moderate injuries in the accident.
The accident remains under investigation.
