Members of the military were invited to the Pentagon to talk about the repeal of the "don't ask, don't tell" policy on gays. Defense Secretary Robert Gates tasked a working group to look at the impact on lifting the policy and it convened its first survey meeting with rank-and-file troops. The participants were picked at random to attend the meeting. Many questions centered on bunking arrangements and military benefits.
