ADDIS- A 36-year-old was killed after walking into traffic on LA 1 Thursday night.

State Police said Emmanuelle Stewart was hit by a car near the Iberville/West Baton Rouge Parish line.

"Stewart was attempting to cross LA 1 when he walked directly into the vehicle's path," a State Police spokesperson said.

Investigators believe Stewart may have been impaired.

The driver of the vehicle was cited for driving with a suspended driver's license.

State Police said the crash remains under investigation.
