CENTRAL - State Police are investigating a single vehicle fatality crash that happened on LA 410 at Gurney Road north of LA 408 in East Baton Rouge.

Troopers said the investigation revealed that the crash happened as 29-year-old Yveon Samuel, of Baker, was traveling northbound on LA 410 in a Chevrolet Impala. For unknown reasons, Samuel failed to negotiate the left hand curve and ran off the left side of the roadway. The woman's vehicle then hit a tree head on and threw her from the vehicle.

Samuel was taken to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital where she later died form her injuries. It is unknown if impairment is a factor in this crash at his point in the investigation, but a toxicology sample will be taken from the woman for further analysis.
