LIVINGSTON- Troopers with Louisiana State Police are assisting Livingston Parish Sheriff's Deputies and Parish Coroner Dr. Ron Coe in an investigation about how a fetus in line for an autopsy went missing.

Sources tell WBRZ News2, the fetus may have been cremated.

Coe was unreachable Friday, and a spokesperson for the sheriff's office couldn't comment on the situation.

The fetus was cut from its mother earlier this week.
Jeffrey Reynolds faces charges for that, and also for slitting his wife's throat in the attack.

Deputies said he also cut her stomach to remove the baby.

The mom, Paula Reynolds, is in critical condition at an area hospital.

Jeffrey Reynolds is charged with feticide and attempted murder.
