Trial date set in LSU grad student slayings
BATON ROUGE - The trial for two men accused of murdering two LSU international students five years ago will begin this summer.
Kiran Kumar Allam and Chandrasekhar Reddy Komma were shot to death at an apartment complex near campus in December 2007.
Authorities arrested Casey Gathers and Michael Lewis in connection to the killings. Both men face second-degree murder charges.
Steve Danielson, assistant district attorney in East Baton Rouge, says he intends to try Gathers and Lewis together.
The trial is set to begin June 24.
