State agricultural officials say orchardists and nursery tree growers can apply for aid to held replant or rehabilitate trees destroyed by natural disasters.
It's part of a USDA assistance program, and can cover up to 70% of replant costs and 50% of pruning and removal.
Eligible losses, including Christmas tree and nursery tree growers, must have occurred on or after Jan. 1, 2008, and before Oct. 1, 2011. Producers must have suffered more than a 15% death loss due to the natural disaster in addition to normal mortality.
Trees grown for pulp or timber or not grown for commercial purposes are not eligible.
