BATON ROUGE - An elderly woman escaped harm after a tree fell on her home this afternoon in Baton Rouge.

It happened on Minnesota Street earlier this afternoon. The fire department says one room was damaged from a tree limb that punched a hole in the roof.

The 81-year-old resident had left earlier in the day with her daughter, and discovered the damage when they got back around 5 p.m.
