Transit system to hire manager as it expands
BATON ROUGE - The Capital Area Transit System wants to hire a temporary manager to oversee improvements in its bus service.
The Advocate reports the position would last 18 months. According to an advertisement by the system, known as CATS, the manager would report to the chief executive officer and manage changes set forth in the system's development plan.
CATS board chairman Isaiah Marshall said the manager would help the transit system meet its 2014 goals.
Marshall said more staff or contractor positions could be added as transit service continues to expand.
