ARCADIA - A state trooper stopped a car for a routine traffic violation on Interstate 20 and found more than three pounds of marijuana in the car.

The driver, 24-year-old Jamar Harris, of Cleveland, Miss., gave the trooper consent Monday to search the car and uncovered the drugs and $1,900 hidden in the vehicle.

Harris was booked on charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, conspiracy to distribute and following too close.

A passenger, 23-year-old Arsenio Nelson, also of Cleveland, was also charged.

Both were transported to the Bienville Parish Jail.
