A Holden couple was busted for stealing copper from FEMA trailers during a routine traffic stop around 1 a.m. today.

28-year-old Jeffery Dennis and 31-year-old Kimberly McKinney were pulled over for having a "loud exhaust" on their truck when a Livingston Parish Sheriff's deputy noticed copper in the back of the truck. The sheriff's office said the duo then "fessed up."

Dennis and McKinney are accused of lifting the metal from a Holden storage facility. Deputies said the couple admitted to selling more than $400 worth of stolen copper the day before.

Dennis and McKinney are booked in the Livingston Parish Detention Center on numerous theft charges. Bond is set at $16,000 for each of them.
