I-12 East accident, rain result in major traffic headache
BATON ROUGE - Rough weather passing through the Capital City area is causing slick driving conditions and backing up traffic.
DOTD Officials said an accident blocked the left lane on I-12 eastbound past Airline Highway causing traffic to back up beyond the 10/12 split. Congestion continued to pile up even after the wreck was cleared, causing I-12 East to back up across the Mississippi River Bridge to Port Allen on I-10 and Capitol Access Road on I-110.
All lanes are open I-12 East past Airline Highway. Congestion has reached LA-1 (Port Allen) on I-10 and Capitol Access Road on I-110.
