Tradition of celebrating veterans for 99 years

BATON ROUGE- The USS Kidd Veterans Museum in partnership with Secretary of State Tom Schedler and Louisiana's Old State Capitol honored men and women of the American Armed Forces on Friday.

The celebration held at Louisiana's Old State Capitol was in honor of Veterans Day. There are currently 16 million living veterans around the country and 300,000 of those live in Louisiana. The celebration was meant to honor past and present servicemembers.

In a release, Schelder said he was, "proud to continue the tradition" of honoring veterans at the Old State Capitol in partnership with the USS Kidd. The USS Kidd and the Old State Capitol have been honoring veterans for 99 years.
