ROSELAND - A woman with warrants out for her arrest attacked deputies trying to take her into custody, according to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Department.
Sheriff Daniel Edwards said deputies arrested 45-year-old Angela Thompson Monday for several outstanding warrants through the Amite Police Department, as well as charges of resisting arrest and battery of a police officer.
Edwards said deputies were called to Thompson's home and told she was drunk and being extremely violent. On their way, deputies found out about the outstanding warrants from Amite.
When they arrived deputies found Thompson outside yelling at the person who had called in the complaint. When they tried to arrest her, Edwards said Thompson began kicking the deputy in the leg.
Thompson was booked into the Tangipahoa Parish jail.
