TPSO: Houma man arrested for stabbing ex-girlfriend and her boyfriend

BATON ROUGE - Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested 34-year-old Ivan Moreno for attempted murder of his ex girlfriend and her boyfriend.

According to Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred on Saturday morning, Mar 12, at around 4 a.m. when Parish deputies responded to a home in the 200 block of Idlewild Drive in Houma.

Deputies learned that a 35-year-old man and 33-year-old woman were stabbed by the woman’s ex-boyfriend. According to the sheriff’s office, Moreno left before deputies arrived.

During the investigation, deputies identified the suspect as Moreno and learned that he broke into the home through a bedroom window in the back of the house.

According to the sheriff’s office, Moreno then went into the bedroom where his ex-girlfriend and her boyfriend were sleeping. The boyfriend was stabbed in the shoulder, arm, chest and stomach and the ex-girlfriend was stabbed in the leg and stomach, according to the sheriff’s office.

Both were treated at local hospitals and released later that day. Deputies located Moreno later at a relative’s home in Houma and was arrested for home invasion and two counts of aggravated second degree battery.

After further review of the victims’ injuries, the charges were increased to two counts of attempted second degree murder. Moreno was also arrested for parole violation and remains in the Terrebonne Parish Jail without bond.
