Executives at Toyota say they may lengthen warranties and raise incentives to keep customers as the company tries to recover from a string of recalls. Group Vice-President Bob Carter told the National Automobile Dealers Association convention in Orlando that half a million of the more than 2 million cars and trucks recalled have been repaired. They were recalled for sticky gas pedals that made vehicles accelerate unexpectedly. Some dealers say people have the mistaken impression they are not selling cars because of publicity about the recall.
