The National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center has issued a tornado watch for much of the WBRZ viewing area.
The watch is in effect until 7 p.m. and includes the following 11 parishes in southeast Louisiana: Ascension, Assumption, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Iberville, Livingston, Pointe Coupee, St. Helena, St. James, West Baton Rouge and West Feliciana.
The watch also covers Amite and Wilkinson counties in Mississippi.
A tornado watch means that the weather conditions are favorable for tornadoes. If a tornado warning is issued, take sheleter immediately in the center of a sturdy building, and away from windows.
The storms today are ahead of a cold front that will move through tonight.
Stay tuned to WBRZ, Cable Channel 18 and wbrz.com for the latest updates on severe weather affecting the Baton Rouge area.

Why on earth would Southern allow this game to be played, the only thing I can think of is some sort of contractual agreement with ESPNU. I would hate for Southern to lose this game because of any type of weather related botched play. This would not be a good way to fall out of contention for the championship!
