The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center has issued a tornado watch for three southern Mississippi counties in the WBRZ viewing area.
The watch includes Amite, Pike and Walthall counties and lasts until 7 p.m.
A tornado watch means conditions are favorable for tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area. People in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening weather conditions like tornadoes, hail up to one inch in diameter, thunderstorm wind gusts to 70 miles per hour and dangerous lightning.
