Toppled tree covers car, lanes of I-10
BATON ROUGE- Interstate traffic is a nightmare and much of the trouble is due to a tree down on I-10 near Dalrymple, covering an automobile.
At one point, only one lane in the eastbound direction was open as crews worked to get the car from under the tree and clear the debris. As of 4:17, the incident was still being worked.
WBRZ News 2 reporter Ryan Naquin, who is in the area, said it appears the tree somehow ended up on top of the car.
A traffic camera positioned at the top of the WBRZ tower in Old South Baton Rouge shows the large tree covering the shoulder and two lanes. Crews are working to direct traffic and clear the scene.
The drive is troublesome in other areas due to the rain and heavy traffic because of an extended holiday weekend the state reported.
